Account & Profile
From your profile, tap "Edit profile". You can change your photo, display name and bio. Your bio is visible to other users — it's a chance to say what poetry means to you.
No, an account is required to access the app. The good news: it's free and takes less than a minute.
Content & Reading
When you sign up, you're asked which languages you want to read in. You can change this at any time from your settings, in the "Languages & Countries" section. Only poems in your chosen languages will appear in the app.
A readlist is a collection of poems you put together yourself — like a playlist, but for poetry. You can create as many as you want, name them, share them with other users or keep them private.
From any poem, tap the save icon. The poem will be available even without an internet connection. Complet subscribers can save up to 100 poems, Intégral subscribers up to 200.
Social
From a user's profile page, tap "Follow". Their new poems will appear in your feed. You can also find your subscriptions from your profile.
Suggestions let you highlight users you enjoy reading — they'll appear on the homescreen and in the feed of your followers. With the free plan, you can suggest up to 3 users. Complet and Intégral subscribers can suggest up to 10.
From any poem or readlist, tap the share icon. You can send it to another Loëly user directly from the app.
As a reader, two conditions to comment on a poem: you must be in a mutual follow with the author, and you must have waited 24 hours since your last comment on that poem. This delay is intentional — it encourages thoughtful reflection rather than instant reactions.
As an author, you can lift this delay for some of your mutual followers by designating them as trusted commenters, from your settings in the "Comments" section.
You can like as many poems as you want. By default, your likes are visible on your profile — you can disable this visibility in your settings, in the "Visibility" section.
Subscriptions
Loëly offers three plans. The Essentiel plan is free, with ads. The Complet plan (€2/month or €18/year) removes ads on all pages and reduces their frequency in the feed, lets you save up to 100 poems offline and unlocks more social features. The Intégral plan (€4/month or €36/year) removes all ads, lets you save up to 200 poems and gives you early access to new features.
From your profile, in the "Subscription" section, choose the subscription that suits you. Payment is handled securely via the App Store or Google Play Store.
You can cancel at any time. You'll keep enjoying your subscription until the end of the current period.

Writing & Publishing
From the create button, you access the editor. Two modes are available, which you can choose in your settings under "Writing": Simple mode, a blank page for distraction-free writing, and Canvas mode, where you can freely place up to 5 text zones on your page. In both cases, you can customise the background colour and texture, the font, the text colour and its formatting. Once you're happy, tap "Next" to title your poem, choose tags and publish — or keep it as a draft.
All Loëly users can see your published poems. If you don't want to share yet, you can keep it as a draft — it will remain visible only to you.
From any poem, tap the "…" menu and select "Report". Our team reviews every report and takes the necessary action.
Miscellaneous
Events are Loëly's poetry calendar — readings, workshops, festivals. They appear on your homescreen and are sorted by date. Each event shows the venue, date and a link for more information.
From the Events section, tap "Propose an event". You fill out a form with the title, description, date, venue, a link and an image. Your proposal is then reviewed by our team before being published.
Your feed mixes poems from users you follow and classic poems, based on the tags you've chosen in your settings. With the Essentiel plan, you can select up to 5 tags and choose between chronological or random display. Complet subscribers can go up to 15 tags and adjust the ratio between classic and user poems. Intégral subscribers get 20 tags and guided exploration — which suggests poems similar to those that inspired you. In all cases, no opaque algorithm: what you see depends solely on your choices.
