"Don't forget to wind the clock!*
Where do I access it?
What will I obtain?
Does it need to improve
Or are you too broken?
I kept thinking it's become the voice I never did have
But even that isn't a good reason,
Not Anymore at least
Tinkering the rewinding - constantly winding, it eventually goes will cease
The owner then heir, loyal to it always
It's the most important needed chore
Before it entered our families years
Of living and dying
All the in between
How could we let it down?
It isn't the life it chose, it was made
To be the order, the guardian of time
Whether the home was empty or full
It still wags its tail and it is mine
Through thick morning smoke
From cigarette to the piping stove
The almost cool first days of fall
Another phase of its life
It's memories are loaded
Sealed in cement,
A time capsule to be buried
To open 100 years or more I wished
When the house is ragged bones left
The bank took it all
The last family forced out
Only the clock hadn't stopped chiming
It lessened quickly after none came
The last moments of its own time
Were about to become encased
Every sight it saw, drawing into the fall
